Good-Bye!

I really hope you enjoyed reading my blogs about all the cool inventions i found!  I had fun learning about all these new inventions and can't wait to see what inventions make it big!

Computer Critics

I decided to finish my blogs with an invention that absolutly blows my mind, but not in a good way.

A new standardized test in the U.K. will use software, not humans, to grade student essays.  Now computers will grade student's essays.  How does this even work?  How could this possibly be fair?  How do computers read the essays?  I am already not a fan of standardized tests like the SAT.  Seeing this new invention really scares me that people one day will not even need to use their brains. If we can train computers to read essays, what else can we train them to do?

The 3-D Camera

This is something that blows my mind.  I can not believe that 3-D photos are now possible for the average consumer to take.  I feel like digital cameras just came out yesterday, and now we have digital cameras that create 3-D images on our computer!  Fujifilm, introduced a 3-D digital camera: the FinePix Real 3D W1. The 10-megapixel FinePix has two lenses, set about as far apart as human eyes, which snap shots of an object from slightly different angles. Those images are then combined into one, creating the illusion of depth.  You can see the image in 3-D right on the camera without 3-D glasses and you could display your pictures on a specialized frame.  I think this invention is really cool and it really shows us the future of photography.

Controller-Free Gaming

One thing that has kept gamers from total immersion in their video games is the controller.  Think about the Wii.  Those controllers can be very difficult to handle.  Some have broken televisions and some have hit other people in various body parts.  In 2009, Microsoft demonstrated a technology, code-named Project Natal, that enables players to control games using only body movements and voice commands and there is no controller required.  This uses special and numerous cameras and microphones.  It also uses very specialized software that can track the body movements.  I think that this is a very cool invention that could be really fun.  However, it seems like it could break easily or not work.  I bet it is also very expensive.  This is something i can see my kids using in the future.  We have come a long way from nintendo 64!

Gas Mask Bra

I was searching for some really cool inventions when i came accross the gas mask bra.  I think this invention is absolutly hysterical.  I can't believe someone actually put the time and energy into this product.  This is how it works.  The bra you wear as a regular bra, BUT if you get attacked by gas, you can take off the bra and it snaps into two gas masks!  Times Magazine called this one of the worst inventions of 2009 and i agree with that statement.  However, the idea did make me laugh.

Are you someone who consumes too much electric in their home and wants to know how to fix it? Then this is the invention for you.  The Dashboard is the centerpiece of EnergyHub’s home area network solution for utilities and consumers. This in-home display provides a combination energy monitoring, and appliance management. With the Dashboard’s touchscreen, users can easily navigate and overview their home’s electricity use and a host of powerful tools for managing home energy consumption.  I believe this is a great tool and it seems very easy to use!  I think it will help America save energy everyday!  Check out the website for more info!

Twirling Spaghetti Fork

I don't know about you, but eating spaghetti can be very difficult sometimes! I am the worst spaghetti twirler in the world!  It never stays on my fork or when i use a spoon i grab too much!  That is why i was excited when i found this invention.  The twirling spaghetti fork to the rescue!!  You press a button on the fork and it twirls the spaghetti for you without having to do any work!  I would love to have one of these as an addition to my kitchen!  Plus, all kids would love this.  This invention would make eating spaghetti more fun for everyone!
