Good-Bye!

I really hope you enjoyed reading my blogs about all the cool inventions i found!  I had fun learning about all these new inventions and can't wait to see what inventions make it big!

Computer Critics

I decided to finish my blogs with an invention that absolutly blows my mind, but not in a good way.

A new standardized test in the U.K. will use software, not humans, to grade student essays.  Now computers will grade student's essays.  How does this even work?  How could this possibly be fair?  How do computers read the essays?  I am already not a fan of standardized tests like the SAT.  Seeing this new invention really scares me that people one day will not even need to use their brains. If we can train computers to read essays, what else can we train them to do?

The 3-D Camera

This is something that blows my mind.  I can not believe that 3-D photos are now possible for the average consumer to take.  I feel like digital cameras just came out yesterday, and now we have digital cameras that create 3-D images on our computer!  Fujifilm, introduced a 3-D digital camera: the FinePix Real 3D W1. The 10-megapixel FinePix has two lenses, set about as far apart as human eyes, which snap shots of an object from slightly different angles. Those images are then combined into one, creating the illusion of depth.  You can see the image in 3-D right on the camera without 3-D glasses and you could display your pictures on a specialized frame.  I think this invention is really cool and it really shows us the future of photography.

Controller-Free Gaming

One thing that has kept gamers from total immersion in their video games is the controller.  Think about the Wii.  Those controllers can be very difficult to handle.  Some have broken televisions and some have hit other people in various body parts.  In 2009, Microsoft demonstrated a technology, code-named Project Natal, that enables players to control games using only body movements and voice commands and there is no controller required.  This uses special and numerous cameras and microphones.  It also uses very specialized software that can track the body movements.  I think that this is a very cool invention that could be really fun.  However, it seems like it could break easily or not work.  I bet it is also very expensive.  This is something i can see my kids using in the future.  We have come a long way from nintendo 64!

Gas Mask Bra

I was searching for some really cool inventions when i came accross the gas mask bra.  I think this invention is absolutly hysterical.  I can't believe someone actually put the time and energy into this product.  This is how it works.  The bra you wear as a regular bra, BUT if you get attacked by gas, you can take off the bra and it snaps into two gas masks!  Times Magazine called this one of the worst inventions of 2009 and i agree with that statement.  However, the idea did make me laugh.

Then this is the invention for you.  The Dashboard is the centerpiece of EnergyHub’s home area network solution for utilities and consumers. This in-home display provides a combination energy monitoring, and appliance management. Twirling Spaghetti Fork

I don't know about you, but eating spaghetti can be very difficult sometimes! I am the worst spaghetti twirler in the world!  It never stays on my fork or when i use a spoon i grab too much!  That is why i was excited when i found this invention.  The twirling spaghetti fork to the rescue!!  You press a button on the fork and it twirls the spaghetti for you without having to do any work!  I would love to have one of these as an addition to my kitchen!  Plus, all kids would love this.  This invention would make eating spaghetti more fun for everyone!

Gripzila

Gripzila is a universal, non-scratch, smartphone tripod mount and stand. It incorporates a simple, adjustable design so it will work with smartphones such as the iPhone and BlackBerry.  It also works well with the iPod Touch.  This would be perfect for my blackberry in the car.  While driving i am always fumbling for my phone.  This would be a way i could use speaker phone more easily.  I could also use it for my ipod touch while on roadtrips!  My ipod touch hsa had problems using other holders in the car.  It is heavy so it usually falls down and then i can't find it in my car while i am driving.  I am very excited about this product and hope to see it in stores soon!!

Hi Eco-Friendly Grillers!

We are here today to help out the world with this innovative product that runs with NO electricity or electrical energy.

Our entrepreneurship class has challenged us to come up with an idea that not only helps the planet but is also convenient, innovative, eco-friendly and EXTREMELY FUN!

Have you ever been to a tailgate or picnic and wanted to use electricity but didn't have any?  How about powering your ipod speakers for some music?

We decided to create an invention that
uses heat from a grill (using a heat exchanger) to power ipod speakers.  Now you can grill your favorite foods while listening to your favorite music at a tailgate or picnic!

the dipr - a spoon for dunking sandwich cookies

I wish i had the dipr when i was a kid!  The dipr spoon is designed to hold sandwich cookies while you dunk them in milk or any other liquid that you like.  How many times have you dipped your oreo or chocolate chip cookie in milk and drop it in the milk?!  Or have it split in half and then your cookie has too much milk?  I have.  I think this is a great product for all ages!  Especially for kids.  My 10 year old sister would love this.  She has cookies with milk every night.  This would really help her out.  I hope to see this product in stores soon!

CuffLink

This is also an interesting iphone accessory.  It is designed for people who like to carry their iphone in their hand instead of their pocket or purse.  The creator, Zenda Snyder, felt that carrying her iphone in her hand was unsafe.  She tended to drop it a lot.  So she designed an alternative accessory for iPhone which allows you to wear it securely on your wrist. This new design consists of a silicone wrist band and it's own iPhone case which connect, pivot, and disconnect very simply and securely. The connection is built into both the case and the band. It's comfortable, and easy to use. You can see who is calling, texting, or e-mailing without having to carry your iPhone in your hand.  The CuffLink is designed to work with all versions of the IPhone.  I do not personally have an iphone, but i think this is an interesting idea.  It is a pain to find your phone in your purse while walking down the street.  However, this seems like it could be very uncomfortable at the same time.  What do you think?

TicTok

This is a really cool idea!  It combines a watch with an ipod nano.It is designed to be an ipod accessory. TikTok is a simple snap-in design. It allows the user to easily and securely snap the Nano into the wrist dock.  It is a multi-Touch, color display, long battery life, MP3, radio, photos, pedometer, Nike+ and clock all in an impossibly small package.  How cool would it be to have a watch be a touch-screen.  This way you would never lose it or drop it and crack the screen.  You will always know where your nano is.  I think this is a cool idea, but i am not sure if i would use it.  It seems like the watch is a little bit bulky and it would be used more likely by men.  However, i do think that there is a market for this product.
